Just three weeks before Christmas, 200 dealers of gems, minerals, fossils and jewelry, from nearly 20 countries, and 5,000 visitors converge on the most beautiful city in the world, the “City of Lights,” to display, buy and sell some the most spectacular wonders of nature. Founded in 1971 by Roger Pelloux, a member of the Golden Horde, a family-owned import/export company of minerals and precious stones, the Paris Show continues to carry out its original mission: To introduce visitors to the world of mineralogy, while allowing them to acquire unique, raw or mounted stones. Today, Fabien Pelloux, Roger’s grandson, organizes the show, held at the luxurious Espace Charenton, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, picturesquely situated on the right bank of the River Seine.
